Platform Integrations

How connected-platform integrations actually work.

Viral Ops connects to each social platform using that platform's own official authorization mechanism (OAuth-based login). Viral Ops never asks for a platform password. What Viral Ops can actually do on a connected account — including whether publishing is public, private, or requires the account owner's direct approval — is decided entirely by that platform, based on the account's own settings and the permissions granted during authorization. Viral Ops never overrides or works around a platform's own limits.

TikTok

Account connection uses TikTok's official Login Kit. Publishing uses TikTok's official Content Posting API. TikTok requires the creator to review current creator information and give explicit, per-post consent before a post is sent — Viral Ops surfaces that consent step rather than skipping it. What Viral Ops can publish, and at what visibility, depends on TikTok's own app-review status for this integration and on the permissions the connected account has granted; use is also governed by TikTok's own Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.

YouTube

Account connection and publishing use the official YouTube Data API and YouTube Analytics API. Every upload is bound to the immutable channel ID confirmed at authorization, so Viral Ops cannot accidentally publish to a different channel on the same Google account. Full detail, including current OAuth scopes and the channel currently authorized, is on the YouTube API Use page. Use is governed by the YouTube Terms of Service.

Instagram

Account connection and publishing use Meta's official Graph API for a professional (Business or Creator) Instagram account. Instagram has no private or draft publication tier for API-created posts, so — unlike YouTube — there is no restricted-but-still-useful visibility level to fall back to; where an account's permissions do not allow fully automated publishing, a person completes the final step. Use is governed by Meta's own Terms of Service and Platform Policy.

What this does not mean

Listing an integration here describes the mechanism Viral Ops uses to talk to that platform. It is not a claim that any particular app-review status, public-publishing approval, or monetization integration has already been granted by that platform. Current status for each integration is whatever that platform's own developer console currently shows.
